Fabric Headbands - Girls Camp!

I have the wonderful opportunity to go to Girls Camp this summer with the girls in our Ward at Church. I LOVE it! It's so much fun working with the Young Women! The leaders get to make little gifts for the girls to give to them at Girls Camp; this is one of the gifts the girls will get. I am SO excited about them! They turned out cute! Here is a close up:
I ended up making 50 of them so that the leaders and girls get one :) Last week 2 friends of mine came over and helped cut out all the fabric and iron it so it would be quick and easy to sew. Then today I got up and my mom watched my kids all morning while I sewed all the flowers onto the band, then this afternoon I stitched all the buttons on. It took FOREVER! But I know they'll be worth it :) It feels so great to have them done!

My Craft Room :)

Here it is as you wrap around the room, when you walk in I have this table set up to the left. My sewing machine and serger :) Which I still need to learn how to use, I can do basic stuff but that's about it!
To the right of the table as you wrap around the room is this bookshelf full of fabric, yes all of that is fabric :) Which is so exciting to me! I can't wait to start on some projects!!!
Oh and there is also our stack of wall decor that I need to hang...just have to figure out where! That's the hardest part, figuring out where to put everything!

and finally in the corner just to the right of the door is my stash of everything else!
On the Bookshelf I have:
-A basket full of about 25 patterns that I thought were cute and bought at one point or another, none have actually been used :/ Need to work on that!
-A basket full of serger thread
-A basket full of scrapbook knick knacks
-A basket full of ribbons
-Some pillow cases and receiving blankets that are done and ready to gift
-As well as yarn, ornaments, how to's for the sewing machine and serger, etc.
The statues on the dresser will eventually move, just have to get stuff set up on other rooms, but this is the safest place currently. The Dresser is full of fabric scraps, buttons and other little accessories.
The multi colored drawer thing - my friend found dumped in a parking lot to get rid of, she called me, and I snatched it up. It was pretty dirty, but a little soap and water got rid of most of it, it's just missing two drawers, which is fine with me :) I am just happy to have it!
Well it's not that exciting, I have big plans for it, but that'll be a while yet, I have too many other house projects to work on. But it is super functional and I love it because it's my own space to make whatever I want! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Quick Father's Day Gift

I got the printables HERE, I copied them into a word document and printed them from there. When I tried to open them through the download it wouldn't work, so that was my way of doing it. I found a pack of 3 pop rocks in the dollar section at target last week, the IBC was $2.79 for a pack of 6 root beers at Target, the tootsie pops were $2.24 at target, and I bought a 8 pack of Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop for $4. I was able to make a basket for my dad, brother-in-law and hubby. My nephews and nieces are going to give it to my brother-in-law not me :)
I used modge podge to glue on the pop rocks and root beer labels. It was super easy and quick!

The Kitchen :)

So it only took 5 weeks for me to finally post a picture of our kitchen. But here it is in all it's glory:I know, so exciting right :) It get's better...
This cute little basket that I picked up at Hobby Lobby last week as a catch all for the counter, since it's impossible for us now to throw stuff on the island.
A close up of the back splash that was already in the house:
Our pantry; My dad repainted the doors white, which was awesome! The black cubbyhole's on the sides are chalkboard paint, but I bought some magnetic paint to paint over them with, then I'll repaint them with chalkboard. I'm so excited to get that done!
Our make shift table until we get ours built. I did find chairs on Craigslist 2 weeks ago and plan to reupholster them next week. So I'll be posting pictures of that next week :)
(notice the flowers - my hubby picked them up at the store Wednesday night when he stopped to pick up a few things for me, thought I'd note that he's pretty wonderful!)
Oh and just to give you an idea of how the house is set up, there is the little wall that you see above that separates our family room from our kitchen, our couch is up against the wall.
So we still have so much to do, but we got a lot of painting done! My wonderful visiting teacher and friend was an amazing help with the painting! She did the chalkboard cubby's, and probably painted half our house! We couldn't have done it without her!
We are planning on getting our bedroom done this month! Then all we have left is the bathroom, doors, and door frames to paint! There is an end in sight! Once all the painting is done we plan to do crown molding throughout the house. I hope to get some things on the walls soon too, it's driving me crazy having empty walls. Oh and I'll hopefully get my craft room organized enough to take a quick pic of it tomorrow! I promise to not disappear for so long again! Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
